Water Damage in Union, Kentucky

A sump pump failed in this home during heavy rains in Union, Kentucky and caused damage to several areas of the home. The utility room, media room, bathroom, family room, and a bedroom were all affected. The SERVPRO of Boone County technicians responded quickly to the home for water mitigation services. Before beginning the water restoration process, the water technicians first assessed the damage and determined the course of action. The first photo shows the family room area. In this room, the water technicians lifted the carpet for drying and detached the baseboards. They also drilled holes in the lower portion of the walls in order to promote wall cavity drying. They placed air movers and dehumidifiers in the area and monitored the drying equipment until the dry out was complete. The second photo shows the area after the carpet was lifted and the wall cavity holes were drilled. Upon completion, all the equipment was removed and the area was ready for any necessary structural repairs to be made.
